How to install an eSIM on iPhone and Android

Install your eSIM on Wi‑Fi before you travel. That way you’re only turning data on when you land, not debugging at the airport. You’ll need the QR code or the SM‑DP+ address and activation code from your order email.

Before you start

Phone is unlocked and supports eSIM
Stable Wi‑Fi connection
QR code or manual activation details ready (screenshot or second device helps for scanning)

iPhone

QR code method

Open Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data)
Tap Add eSIM or Add Cellular Plan
Choose Use QR Code and scan the code from your email or another screen
Follow the prompts, label the line (e.g. “Travel”), and finish setup
When you arrive, set that line as the one for Cellular Data; keep your home line for calls if you want

Manual entry

If the QR doesn’t scan: Add eSIM → Use QR Code → Enter Details Manually. Paste the SM‑DP+ address and activation code exactly as provided. Leave the confirmation code blank unless your instructions say otherwise.

Android

Menus vary by brand. Typical path:

Open Settings → Network & internet (or Connections)
Tap SIMs or SIM manager → Add eSIM / Download a SIM
Scan the QR code, or choose to enter the activation code manually
Follow on-screen steps, then set the eSIM as preferred for mobile data when you need it

On Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM. On Pixel: Network & internet → SIMs → Download a SIM.

If something goes wrong

QR won’t scan — Use manual entry with SM‑DP+ and activation code
No data after install — Confirm the eSIM is turned on and selected for data; toggle Airplane mode; wait a few minutes for the network to register
“Not supported” — Device may be locked or lack eSIM hardware; check with your carrier or manufacturer

Installation and activation are separate: you can install at home and only enable data when you arrive, so the plan doesn’t start early (depending on the plan rules). If you’re stuck, contact us with your order details and we’ll help.
